The Assembly. In 2021, North Carolina got a new digital magazine. Focused on in-depth, long-form reporting, The Assembly serves North Carolinians with a platform to help the state better understand its people, institutions, and ideas—those that make this state amazing. (Or not; it depends on the story.) The Assembly delivers substance without clutter. Nuance without reflexive “both-sides” framing. It’s original reporting, not just commentary, and I am proud to have helped the publication launch as a founding copyeditor (and style guide wizard).

Social media copyediting & content development. Let’s stand out on social together. I’m happy to work in Excel sheets, but I’ll probably ask you if I can go outside them. Accounts I’ve written/edited for:

Secret Code. Secret Code, a customizable children’s book used to empower and educate young girls, smashes the stereotype on coding (and robots!). I proofread the book for my writer friend, Nathan Archambault. Additional coverage here and here.
B2B and B2C advertising. Copy editing for friends and ad agency clients StreetEasy, Capsule Pharmacy, Ever & Ever, Parachute Home, Vita Coco, Eight Sleep, Marcus by Goldman Sachs, Waze, Zocdoc, Dopeman, new business and a friend’s 18+ board game.

Writing is my trade, but I also have another lover: photography.
