I’m tired of fake news. Misleading headlines. Bullshit clickbait. This year, I vow to STOP engaging in all this and start engaging in something better. Enter Current.ly.

Last year, I became a part of the team at Current.ly, a women-led initiative sharing the best word-of-mouth lifestyle and culture gems every other Wednesday in the form of a newsletter. I’m so proud to be a part of this team. Let me tell you why.
The biggest reasons to love Current.ly:
- It’s women-led. Current.ly is run by a team of kickass women, each with a unique story and perspective on what life is like in young adulthood. These women are the team that produce both original content and a fresh perspective on the best shit out there.
- It’s real. We’re not talking expensive designer bags and out-of-pocket, glamorous (unaffordable) cruises here. Current.ly is the real stuff, and the perspective of the content is real—more real than the lifestyle blogs currently (ahem) out there. In short, it cuts through the crap.
- It’s relevant. Current.ly’s content is relevant and timely. “Gems”—the submissions that make up Current.ly—aren’t always the top headline in your Facebook feed. And that’s a good thing. Current.ly is filtered and curated with a lot of thought, so readers are getting a well-rounded perspective on what’s going down in funky town. It’s like we’re taking all the hard work out for you in internet trolling—sorta like theSkimm for lifestyle.
- It’s fresh. The idea behind Current.ly is unique. Current.ly’s content is majority user-submitted, open for submissions on a rolling basis (#realtime). That means the ideas behind Current.ly are submitted by/inspired by its readers—curated by the editorial team, of course—and encompassing of all its readers: men, women, young, old, United States–native, international, etc.
- It’s consistent. Current.ly lands in your inbox every other Wednesday for that mid-week pick-me-up. Because these days, we could all use a little bit of uplifting. Not one for newsletters? Check back with Current.ly soon. It has big plans for the future (think: a website/blog with even more original content).
